FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers on steel fabrication and erection, contracting, laser cutting, material supply and the weight calculator.
Questions are grouped under eight headings. Narrow the list with a keyword search or by picking a heading.
Company and Scope
Who we are, where we work and which jobs we take on.
Four service lines: steel fabrication and erection, contracting, laser cutting, and steel supply. Each can be taken on its own or combined within the same project.
Heavy steel construction work has been running since 2008. NFS Çelik & Yapı is the new brand identity of the business Çağrı Metal has carried out since then; the team and production discipline are the same.
The head office Google Maps listing was registered under the name Çağrı Metal. The address and facility are the same; the brand on this site is NFS Çelik & Yapı. Directions links point to that listing.
Head office: Eyüp Sultan Mah. Sandalcı Sk. No: 8, Sancaktepe / Istanbul. Branch: Dudullu OSB, B-203 Sk. No: 5, Ümraniye / Istanbul. Maps and directions for both are on the Contact page.
The focus is Istanbul and the surrounding region. Other provinces are assessed against transport, erection programme and site conditions; the decision follows the site survey.
Service Lines
The boundaries of the four services, taken together or separately.
Yes. The four lines can run independently. Scope is put in writing at the survey stage; the quote states clearly which work sits with us and which stays with the client.
Yes. Shop fabrication can be taken alone, or fabrication and site erection can run together. If erection belongs to another contractor, part marking and delivery sequence are planned around their programme.
Turnkey contracting is offered for residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Site management, subcontractor coordination and handover sit with one team; the steel package is coordinated under the same roof.
Yes. Parts and subcontract cutting outside our own fabrication run on the same line. Cutting is planned from a DXF / DWG file or a dimensioned drawing.
Cuttable material thickness and table size are not published as figures here; they are confirmed in writing for your specific request once you share the file. That way the cutting plan is built around the actual part sizes.
Quotes and Process
How to request a quote, what information is needed, what happens next.
Fill in the form on the Contact page. Describe scope and dimensions; you can also transfer the list you built in the weight calculator into the same form. Requests by phone or email work as well.
Intended use and building type, approximate dimensions or a dimension list, location, expected delivery, and the structural or shop drawings if you have them. Items such as crane loads and cladding or roof choice change the scope directly; stating them up front makes the quote firmer.
Yes. A preliminary assessment is made from dimensions and intended use. A firm price follows once drawings or a site survey settle the scope; engineering can be included in scope if it is needed.
In steelwork the price follows scope, not tonnage. The same tonnage can be a very different work package depending on connection type, crane loads and site constraints. That is why no prices are published here; each quote is prepared for the specific project.
It depends on how complete the information is. With a dimension list or drawings the review moves quickly; if items are missing, the technical team asks for them first. When your request arrives you are told in writing what is still needed.
Engineering and Technical
Drawings, modelling, quality records and technical setup.
Where a job needs engineering, the structural solution and shop drawings are produced under one discipline with AutoCAD and Tekla Structures. Approved drawings are the basis of the production plan and erection sequence.
DXF and DWG files go straight into cutting and fabrication preparation. Dimensioned drawings, PDFs or a hand written dimension list are also accepted; production starts once the dimensions are confirmed.
Yes. Approved structural data and architectural drawings are converted into a fabrication package. If a drawing has missing or conflicting items, we raise them in writing before production starts.
Yes. Connection, MEP and equipment clashes are resolved on the model before fabrication. A clash found on site pushes back both cutting and erection, so the check is done up front.
Dimensional and visual checks are recorded during production and erection and added to the project file at handover. After geometry and connection checks the snag list is closed and the work is handed over.
Erection and Site
Delivery, lifting plan, site management and handover.
Site erection runs with a lifting plan, temporary supports and alignment checks. Whether erection is in scope is settled at the survey; if the client erects with their own crew, the fabrication package is marked accordingly.
Parts are marked during production and shipped in erection order. Where site storage is tight, delivery is split into phases; the programme is set together with the client.
On contracting jobs, site management, quality and safety monitoring run within the same programme. Subcontractor coordination is part of that monitoring.
Phasing and working hours are agreed at the survey. Crane access, enclosed areas and production flow directly affect the erection sequence; the programme is built around those constraints.
Material and Supply
Profile and plate supply, preparation, documents and lead time.
Structural profiles and plate are supplied. A live item and size list is not published here; the status of the items in your request is confirmed in writing with the quote.
A dimension list, a shop drawing or the output of the weight calculator on this site all work. The calculator list can be transferred into the quote form message field in one click.
Yes. Cut to length and size preparation are included on request. The quote states which items ship cut and which ship in full lengths.
Material documents for delivered items are provided with the delivery file. If you need a specific document format, state it with your request.
Weight Calculator
Formulas, profile list, densities and the limits of the result.
For rolled profiles: weight (kg) = kg/m × length (m) × quantity. For geometric sections the volume is calculated and multiplied by material density. The result updates as you type; there is no separate calculate button.
Fourteen sections. Rolled: IPE, IPN, HEA, HEB, HEM, UPN, UPE. Plate, tube and solid sections: angle, box, pipe, plate, flat bar, square bar and round bar. The 3D section model updates with the dimensions you enter.
Carbon steel 7850 kg/m³ (default), stainless steel 8000 kg/m³, aluminium 2700 kg/m³. Changing the material updates the result for geometric sections.
No. The tool gives theoretical weight; fabrication tolerance, welding and offcut allowance are not included. The binding document for order and price is the project specific quote.
Yes. The items you add to the list can be moved into the quote form in one step; they are written into the message field and become the shared list when scope is discussed.
Contact, Site and Privacy
Contact channels, language selection and how personal data is handled.
The Contact page brings together the mobile number, landline, two email addresses and a message form. Email suits technical files; the phone is quicker for short questions.
The message is stored as a request in our system and passed to the relevant team. Only the contact and project details you provide are used; the specifics are in the KVKK notice.
Yes, Turkish and English run fully in parallel. The default follows your country; the choice you make in the language switcher is stored in your browser and kept on later visits.
